Megan and Thomas met while they were both working at Lucid Software in South Jordan. Megan was a Customer Success Manager and Thomas was an intern in her department.
Megan caught Thomas's eye on the first day of his internship, but he didn't want to make things awkward at work. So he planned to get close to her throughout his internship and ask her out after he was done at Lucid. Near the end of the internship, Megan started dating another guy and the plan had to be accelerated. So on his last week, Thomas asked Megan out to dinner. After waiting for an agonizing hour she finally responded and agreed. What Thomas didn't know was that Megan didn't want to go and that her mom was forcing her!
For dinner, Megan chose Chinese from a list of cuisines (Barbeque, Sushi, Burgers, Japenese, etc.) and Thomas surprised her with Asian Star (the restaurant where we're having our rehearsal dinner). After dinner, they went to Iceberg for dessert and while standing in line they discovered that both were lactose intolerant. So they decided to pass on milkshakes and instead went to a nearby dessert shop.
The first date went well enough that when Thomas asked her out on a second date she said yes, and this time without her mom's coercion. For their second date, they went to a Jazz game. Thomas bought the literal worst seats in the arena, the very top row. During the game, he discovered that Megan was a huge Jazz fan and that her family had season tickets growing up. Even though she was used to much nicer seats, Megan says that it was after the second date that she decided she liked Thomas.
From there they started seeing each other frequently, Megan driving to Provo or Thomas driving to Draper. Since those first two dates, they've been to countless restaurants (not all of them Asian) and many more Jazz games (Megan doesn't let Thomas buy the tickets). Megan visited Thomas multiple times while he was interning in California, and together they've traveled to Moab, Paris, and Hawaii.
